When Windsor decided to start a legal search division, we all agreed that our goals and methods would be geared towards providing excellent service and value to both the clients that pay our fees and excellent opportunities to all level of attorneys. We also agreed we would offer not just placement results but also solid career assistance to any attorney that we encounter that would need our help or any client seeking guidance in the search process.

Our job is listening to associates, partners and counsel. We can help assess their career options by providing factual data about available positions. If timing is not right for a move, we confirm this, then discuss what qualities they would seek in a new position, so we can notify them when an ideal opportunity is available.

Methodology & Facts

By partnering with our clients and candidates, we add value beyond that of most recruiters. As a result, the division now consists of eight legal recruiters making numerous placements despite a tougher economy. We provide thorough market knowledge & tailored services. By caring first about the benefit provided, we have been successful in acquiring repeat clients and help aid is employee retention.

Our consultants work as a team. Each client has contact with one consultant who takes the time to fully learn the client’s business. Utilizing assigned regions, our staff avoids competing for clients. We collaborate to provide maximized results.

We guarantee absolute confidentiality. Candidates’ concerns and clients’ proprietary information are our highest priority. Frequently, the ideal candidate is identified by one of our specialists working in a region across the country. Windsor also helps its candidates acquire career-making opportunities that strictly local recruiters simply cannot access. This gives our candidates and clients the strongest likelihood of making an ideal match.

We endeavor always to be part of the process. We both brief the candidates on how to approach each interview and assist the client in getting the most out of the interview. After each interview, we work with both parties to address legitimate concerns, and in the final stages, we assist in arriving at a deal that works well for all.

*We have a variety of approaches to support our clients. In addition to standard contingency search, we provide exclusive contingency and retained search options. The exclusive and retained searches afford first right of refusal to the clients choosing these methods, in addition to many other benefits. Unlike most firms with only one type of retainer calling for 2/3 of the fee to be paid early in the process, we also offer a level of search called “container” where a smaller fee portion is advanced, with the balance due upon successful search completion.

Windsor has comprehensive coverage of both the general practice and patent & intellectual property law areas with at least 4 recruiters in each area at all times.

In addition to single associate, counsel, staff attorney and partner placements, Windsor Consultants, Inc. offers its clients branch office expansion recruitment, mergers & acquisition of individual rainmakers, groups and sections as well as wholesale firm mergers, etc. Our clients & candidates rely on us because we are never afraid to ask the tough questions of both the candidates and the clients.

By asking all the right questions, we are able to make the right matches, economic, personality, cultural, etc. not just academic specialties and years’.

Facts:

  1. We have generated over $15 million in legal placement fees since we opened the division, starting with one recruiter in 1991.
  2. Our legal recruiters have a combined 107 years of recruitment experience, almost all of which is with Windsor Consultants, Inc.
  3. Two of our senior legal recruiters are Certified Personnel Consultants as certified by the National Association of Personnel Services.
  4. Almost every one of our consultants has qualified for or been nominated for awards as top 10 recruiters in Houston or top 15 in Texas. 4 of our recruiters have been qualified each year since 1991, when we opened the legal division.
  5. We have made placements in 35 of the top 40 legal markets in the US and in several overseas locations.
  6. A third of our clients were first-time users of an attorney search firm.
  7. Two thirds of our clients are repeat customers
